The Points of Light Foundation
The mission of The Points of Light Foundation is to engage more people more effectively in volunteer community service to help solve serious social problems. The Foundation's Youth & Family Outreach department seeks to make this mission a reality for youth.

Youth & Family Outreach raises awareness and advocates for the engagement of young people in community problem solving, builds the knowledge and skills of young people to be community problem solvers, and builds the knowledge and skills of organizations and institutions to create meaningful service and leadership opportunities for young people. Youth & Family Outreach does this through technical assistance, training, consulting, publications and programs and initiatives.

Prudential has long been a vigorous supporter of volunteering and community involvement, and believes that communities can be strong and vibrant only if their citizens work together to address issues of common concern. In order to help ensure the future vitality of American communities, Prudential launched a major corporate initiative in 1995-The Prudential Spirit of Community Initiative-that encourages young people to become actively involved in making their communities better places to live.
